SAN MARCOS: Eight Palomar College students and three former Palomar students received accolades at the 34th annual Pacific Southwest Emmy Awards ceremony.
The television awards ceremony was held last month in Carlsbad. The Pacific Southwest region includes San Diego, Bakersfield, Palm Springs, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Las Vegas.
Students who received Emmys were Robert Winsmann, Aleks Awad, Ellie Zimmerman, Brian Lindholm, Kevin O'Hara, Trevor Graciano, Rob Farrell and Ben Dianna. Iris Caffin, a former Palomar student now attending San Diego State University, also won.
Former students who were recognized in the professional categories were Donald Sinatra, a producer and editor for KPBS-TV, and Christopher Maue, a photojournalist for XETV-FOX6.
Palomar College students have received 29 Emmy awards. –L.L.
