SANTA CRUZ – Fire officials say a person started the fire that began in the Santa Cruz Mountains last month and destroyed 11 buildings.
The wildfire erupted June 11 and charred 520 acres in the Bonny Doon community.
John Ferreira, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's unit chief for Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties, says the blaze was human-caused but it's not known whether it was deliberately set or an accident.
