SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – Two men have been killed and two men hurt in a car wreck on the Ortega Highway east of San Juan Capistrano.
California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Goodwin says two unidentified men died early Thursday when their Honda Civic veered into opposing lanes on the highway and was broadsided by a sport utility vehicle.
Goodwin says the SUV's 43-year-old driver and 44-year-old passenger, both from Perris, were taken to Mission Hospital. The driver suffered minor injuries and the passenger moderate injuries.
The crash shut down all lanes of the highway for a time but they have since been reopened.
