LOS ANGELES – Authorities investigating what they believed was a child making graphic sexual remarks online say they found that the writer was instead a Los Angeles high school principal posing as a 12-year-old girl.
Prosectuor Marc Beeart said Thursday that worry about the supposed girl making the statements led police to 60-year-old Randolph Cornfield, principal of Del Rey Continuation School.
Cornfield was arrested last month and charged with possessing child pornography after investigators said they found images on his computer.
Cornfield declined to comment when reached at his home Thursday.
Cornfield is not accused of abusing any children, and has not been charged with a crime in connection with posing as a young girl.
His arraignment is set for July 24.
